When creating a post in WordPress and adding an image, not always it is viable to insert the big size, then we put a small sample known as thumbnail. By default WordPress doesn’t come with a tool/feature to magnify these small images when inserted in the posts, so it’s needed an installation of a plugin.

I recommend the Lightbox 2 plugin created by Lokesh Dhakar. With this plugin you can zoom an image from a text link as in this sample, zoom just a single image or a sequence of images like these that are from my People lightbox at iStockphoto. Click on the images below to magnify them:
